Buyers of materials data
Materials data licensing: who takes test data for AI
Updated
Buyers of materials data for AI fall into three camps: partners for data a company already holds, curators of their own databases, and labs that generate data with robots.
Partners for data you already hold
83 Sciences describes itself as AI-native materials discovery powered by unpublished experimental data, says it trains on that data through partnerships with labs, and is hiring to expand into industry R&D and other major sources of proprietary experimental data.

CuspAI says its AI Materials Foundry is a network of over 45 partners, accelerating discoveries in semiconductors, energy and climate.

Curators and self-driving labs
CCDC invites researchers to deposit structures into the Cambridge Structural Database or the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database. Periodic Labs and Radical AI say they generate data in autonomous or self-driving labs, and the Materials Data Foundry run by NUS and the University of Toronto builds a dataset of its own.
